I knew "Bea/Bee" Salem when we were both graduate students at Wayne State University in the '80's. She gave me support on a number of occasions--help in understanding Kate Chopin's "The Awakening" when I was unclear about why the "citizenry"--as Bea put--did not initially like the novel. She was a good person and I know you all have to miss her still. I just thought of her recently--googled her name, and it led me here. She's with the angels.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
